Help & Support

There are many ways to show support. By attending Aid the Silent events, helping spread the word on social media, or simply making a monetary donation, you are giving to our cause to help the HOH/deaf community.

Volunteer

We host several events throughout the year at our office headquarters in the South Texas area. Because we are a small nonprofit, we are always in need of volunteers for these events. In addition, if you are in the area, contact us to see how you can help in the office.

Our Mission

We raise the necessary funds to provide HOH/deaf children/teens the tools and resources to help them find personal success. Whether that be through resources such as FM systems or hearing aids, through resources such as speech therapy or learning ASL, or through learning about Jesus through Deaf Young Life events and camps. Through our social outings and fundraisers, we have raised funds for our mission, but also brought the community together. Every event we are a part of is fully deaf and hard-of-hearing accessible with live captioning and interpreters. Through our partnerships with industry professionals, ministry leaders, educators and the hearing loss community we have been able to bring about change in an unprecedented way.

We provide 6 areas of resources:

Hearing aids | FM systems | ASL lessons (family or individual)
Speech therapy | Deaf Young Life | Registration for Christian-based summer camps

We support the ENTIRE HOH/deaf community. We support #deafunity. Together—as one—we are a much stronger voice!

Why We Do It

We believe it is crucial to be able to communicate, wheather by speech or ASL. Since its inception, we have had amazing opportunities to hear heartfelt stories. We have been given the tools to be an advocate for this unheard group of people. Aid the Silent advocates for the entire deaf and hard-of-hearing community both on a local and national level. We believe every person deserves on a and national level. We believe every person deserves an equal opportunity at success and we strive to bring awareness for proper accommodations for everyone regardless of circumstance. We respect every person’s decision on how they communicate—whether they use hearing aids, have a cochlear implant, use sign language, lip read, or use it all—we stand behind everyone and their family’s right to choose their preferred method of communication and resources. We believe, together, we are stronger united to be a voice for the deaf community.
