Dylan

Age 1, Dylan has significant hearing loss and has been identified by medical professionals as needing advanced hearing technology to support their communication development.

Summer

Summer, age 13, was diagnosed with hearing loss earlier this year after months of medical testing and specialist visits.

Brooklyn

At age 15, Brooklyn was diagnosed with significant hearing loss and needs hearing aids to access communication, education, and everyday opportunities.

Jacelyn

At age 11, Jacelyn was diagnosed with significant hearing loss and needs hearing aids to access communication, education, and everyday opportunities. 

Michael

Diagnosed with hearing loss at age 4, Michael has relied on hearing aids to access communication, learning, and everyday experiences.

Gerardo

12 year old, Gerardo has been waiting three years for the hearing support he needs to fully access communication and learning.

Olivia

We met Olivia at 4 months old. She needs hearing technology and communicative support that will set Olivia up for success as she continues to grow.

Noah

Noah is a bright young student whose hearing loss creates daily challenges both in the classroom and in social settings. Without hearing aids, it is difficult for him to fully participate in lessons, understand teachers, and engage confidently with his peers.

Andres is about to turn 10 and has relied on his hearing aids every day since he was 4 years old for learning, for conversations with friends, for everyday life.

Ximena

This determined 9 year old girl was diagnosed as hearing impaired at age 6. She needs hearing equipment and communicative tools to help her keep up in school, connect with friends, and take part fully in her community.

Lilah

5 year old, Lilah was diagnosed with bilateral hearing loss at birth. Since day one, she’s relied on hearing aids and support services to hear, learn, and connect with the world around her

Brodie

Brodie was diagnosed with hearing loss as an infant. Since then, hearing testing, equipment, and communicative support have been essential to helping him learn, connect, and thrive.

Sebastian

Sebastian is a 12 year old boy whose hearing loss affects his comprehension, communication, and academic progress. He struggles to follow conversations and classroom instructions, and even simple words are difficult for him to pronounce.

Oscar

Oscar is a 15 year old high school student who became permanently deaf in one ear after a brain tumor and the surgeries that followed. Since then, he’s endured four surgeries while staying active in his church and high school band programs.

Theodore

Meet Theodore, an 11 year old boy who was recently diagnosed with permanent hearing loss. In his public school classroom, Theodore is struggling to follow instruction, participate in classroom conversations, and stay engaged with his daily activities.

Elisabeth

Elisabeth was diagnosed with hearing loss at just 3 weeks old. Her family’s greatest hope is for her to communicate, learn, and thrive alongside her peers.  Receiving hearing aids as early as possible is critical to reaching that goal during this pivotal stage of her development.

Josue

Josue is a 10 year old boy with significant hearing loss in both ears. He needs support to access hearing devices, communicative therapy, and educational tools that will help him keep up in school and follow along with his peers.

Olicity

At just 5 years old, Olicity was diagnosed with hearing loss. Today, at age 10, she still does not have a hearing device because the cost is not covered by her insurance.

Kennedy

Kennedy is a 12-year-old who has been progressively losing her hearing each year. She loves athletics, staying active, and being involved at school. As she continues to grow and learn, access to hearing aids will help Kennedy stay connected with her peers and continue excelling in the classroom.

Alex

7 months old, Alex was born with bilateral Microtia and Atresia.  Alex needs hearing aids to support his development.

Alex currently has a unilateral loaner device, but his medical providers have emphasized the importance of having two devices to support speech and language development. 

Renee

Renee is 12 years old and has unilateral hearing loss. She receives speech therapy and is currently using a loaner BAHA hearing device from her audiologist..

Since receiving her loaner device, Renee’s progress in school has accelerated dramatically. It has also transformed how she navigates medical appointments.

Aid the Silent is committed to advocating and supporting the deaf and hard-of-hearing community through deaf resources, deaf education, deaf ministry and deaf awareness.

Our goal is to be a source of support to help and financially assist economically-disadvantaged deaf or hard-of-hearing children/teens by providing a means to acquire communication through the use of sign language, speech therapy, hearing aids, and/or assistive communication technology, which will allow deaf/HOH children to develop.
