Laura Christianson
Laura Christianson served as a Speech Language Pathologist in San Antonio and Austin, Texas. She received her Bachelor and Master’s degree at Texas Christian University. At TCU, Laura learned Sign Language and Cued Speech in order to work with hearing impaired children in clinics and school settings. She specialized in Autism and served that population in schools, private practice and hospital settings. Laura later took her love for Autism and helped start a Mark 9 program at her church in New Braunfels, Texas. Laura has served as a Speech Pathologist with Austin Smiles on several trips to El Salvador. There she was able to use her Spanish and work in triage and feeding therapy with cleft palate and cleft lip patients. One of Laura’s favorite trips to El Salvador was when she was able to assist in surgery with her father, Dr. Cullington who is a founding member of Austin Smiles, as well as helping her mother (who is a recovery room nurse), after the surgeries.
Laura and her husband, Trey, live in Garden Ridge, Texas and have been married for 25 years. They have three adult children (one daughter and two sons). They enjoy water sports, hiking, and all things sports with their kids. Laura and Trey also enjoy volunteering together and independently in schools, hospitals and churches in their community.
