Jacob Garcia
Jacob Garcia is a multitalented artist and Facilities Operations and Technician at Aid the Silent, based in San Antonio, Texas. Born deaf, Jacob discovered at an early age that art was not only a creative outlet but also a powerful way to express emotions, ideas, and stories. He earned his Associate’s degree in Art Studies from the Southwestern Collegiate Institute for the Deaf, where he developed skills across multiple mediums including sculpture, painting, drawing, and digital design.
Jacob’s personal projects reflect a passion for storytelling and exploration, ranging from exhibiting original paintings in diverse styles to creating an independent comic book series. He also challenges himself with digital design in Photoshop, continuously refining his technical abilities and expanding his versatility as a designer and illustrator.
In addition to his role at Aid the Silent, Jacob serves part time on staff with Deaf Young Life, where he mentors deaf teens and shares his faith. He also enjoys spending time outdoors fishing, water skiing, and playing tennis—interests that often inspire and influence his art.
Jacob’s life experiences, faith, and love for the Deaf community come to life through his creative work. His hope is that his art stirs emotion, sparks thought, and inspires connection in those who encounter it.
